(I have not researched the Cupp family, but am sharing the information I have regarding this family.)
William Edward "Will" Cupp was born February 11, 1876, in Arkansas, probably in Conway County. He may have been the son of William Cupp, born about 1840, and Tennie Dickson, born about 1855. William and Tennie married December 30, 1875 in Conway County, Arkansas.
Will married Mrs. Rebecca D. (Lovel) Lockhart on May 7, 1895, in Conway County. Rebecca Lovel was born November 1862, in Arkansas. She was several years older than Will.
Rebecca first married James S. Lockhart on March 7, 1880 in Conway County. James S. Lockhart was born about 1862 in Arkansas. The couple appears on the 1880 Conway County census, Lick Mountain Township. The census shows James S. Lockhart, 19, a farmer, born in Arkansas, father and mother born in Alabama; and Rebecca, wife, 18, born in Arkansas, father and mother born in Tennessee. Living a short distance away was Susan Lovel, 39, a widow, born in Tennessee, and her children. I believe Susan was Rebecca's mother.
James and Rebecca had four children: Sarah Lockhart, born about 1881, married C. F. Edwards in 1898; Della Lockhart, born 1884; Mabel Lockhart, born 1886; and Maggie Lockhart, born 1889.
Will and Rebecca continued to live in Lick Mountain Township, near Center Ridge after their marriage. The 1900 Conway County census, Lick Mountain Township, shows William E. Cupp, 24, born February 1876, married 5 years, a farmer; Rebecca D., wife, 37, born November 1862, married 5 years, had given birth to 5 children, 5 children still living; Della Lockhart, step-daughter, 16, born March 1884; Mabel Lockhart, step-daughter, 13, born July 1886; Maggie Lockhart, step-daughter, 10, born December 1889; Electa Cupp, daughter, 8 months, born September 1899; and Lee Campbell, foster child, 7, born May 1893.
The 1910 Conway County census shows the family living on the Martinville Road in Lick Mountain Township. The census shows Will E. Cupp, 35, married 1 time, married 17 years, a farmer who owned his farm; Rebecca, wife, 47, married 2 times, had given birth to 6 children, 6 children still living; Lecter, daughter, 9; and Lester, son, 7 years old.
The 1920 Conway County census shows the family living on the Plumerville and Clinton Road in Union Township. The census shows William Cupp, 45, a farmer who owned his farm; Rebecca, wife, 48; Electra, dau, 19; and Lester, son, 15 years old.
The 1930 Conway County census, St. VIncent Street in Ward 1 of the City of Morrilton, shows William E. Cupp, owned his property worth $2000, 54, married at 19, a grocery retail merchant; and Rebecca, wife, 67, first married at age 17.
Rebecca died April 28, 1934 in Conway County. She is buried in the Center Ridge Cemetery in Conway County.
Will then married Laura ______. Laura was born December 16, 1893 and died January 17, 1950. She is buried in the Center Ridge Cemetery.
Will married Mrs. Sarah Opal Salina (Horton) Hill on March 8, 1949, in Conway County. Opal (Horton) Hill was born June 4, 1910, in Pope County, Arkansas, the daughter of James William Monroe Horton and Effie Ann Harmon.
Will and Opal lived at Morrilton until his death on December 24, 1958. He is buried near his first wife, Rebecca, in the Center Ridge Cemetery.
