William Winthrop Thomas Horton was born May 25, 1848, in Wayne County, Tennessee, the son of Isaac H. "Ikey" Horton and Sarah "Sallie" Berry.
The Horton family moved to Searcy County, Arkansas about 1851, and settled near Marshall and Canaan.
Thomas married Tennessee A. Parks, who was born May 25, 1848, the daughter of Gibson W. Parks and Annis Dickey.
Thomas died on October 24, 1887, in Searcy County.
The 1900 Searcy County census, Spring Township, shows John H. Horton, head, 27, born May 1873, single, a farmer who owned his farm; Tennessee, mother, 55, born 1845, widowed, had given birth to 7 children, 7 children still living; Mary, sister, 20, born July 1879; Gipson, brother, 18, born May 1882; and Flossie, sister, 15, born August 1884.
Tennessee died there on September 5, 1926. They are buried in Canaan Cemetery, in Searcy County. The Canaan Cemetery was started on Gibson and Annis Dickey Parks land.
