John Washington Bridgman

John Washington Bridgman was born August 1, 1812, in Wythe County, Virginia. He was the son of William Bridgman and Mariam Brown.

A biography from the 1877 Holt County Atlas states that John moved to Campbell County, Tennessee when he was about 7 years old.

John married Lucinda Gibson in May 1834, in Tennessee. Lucinda Gibson was born about 1822, in Tennessee, the daughter of George Gibson.

 Prior to 1841, John moved his family from Tennessee to Missouri. John settled in Holt County, Missouri about 1847.

The 1877 Holt County Atlas states that John moved to Brown County, Kansas about 1858.

The 1880 Holt County, Missouri census shows the family living at Bigelow. The census shows John W. Bridgman, 67; Lucinda, 58; Alice, 19; and Robert, 16.

John died January 7, 1898, at Bigelow, in Holt County, Missouri. Lucinda died in Holt County in October 1899.
