Emiline Paralee "Emily" Horton was born January 1851, in Wayne County, Tennessee, the daughter of Nathaniel H. "Than" Horton and Mary Margaret "Peggy" Berry.
Emily married William Morton Franks on February 25, 1871, in Wayne County. William Franks was born November 15, 1847, in Tennessee.
William and Emily appear on the 1880 Wayne County census, in the 7th District. Between about 1891 and 1897, they moved their family to Searcy County, Arkansas. William and Emily settled in the Campbell Community of Searcy County, near Leslie. They appear on the 1900 Searcy County census living in Campbell Township.
William died at Campbell on August 13, 1911 and is buried in Campbell Cemetery. Emily died there March 19, 1928 and also buried in the Campbell Cemetery.
