Margaret Martha Malinda "Lindy" Horton was born February 4, 1861, in Wayne County, Tennessee, the daughter of Nathaniel H. "Than" Horton and Mary Margaret "Peggy" Berry.
Lindy married Robert Wesley "Bob" Baugus on September 5, 1883, in Wayne County. Bob Baugus was born February 1861, in Wayne County, the son of Calvin Baugus and Mary Carolin Curri.
Bob and Lindy moved their family to Searcy County, Arkansas, between 1896 and 1899.
The 1900 Searcy County census, Wiley's Cove Township, shows Robert W. Baugus, 39, born February 1861, married 17 years, a farmer who owned his farm; Margaret M., wife, 39, born February 1861, had given birth to 8 children, 6 children still living; Ora J., daughter, 15, born June 1884, Tennessee; Clery, daughter, 15, born January 1885, Tennessee; Elen D., daughter, 12, born November 1887, Tennessee; Ethel, daughter, 10, born October 1889, Tennessee; Clifford H., son, 4, born March 1896, Tennessee; and Wilford C., son, 8 months, born September 1899, Arkansas.
Bob died about 1902, in Searcy County. He is probably buried in the Zion Hill Cemetery, in Pope County, Arkansas.
Lindy married J. R. Martin on November 11, 1905, in Searcy County. They moved to Conway County, Arkansas, where the marriage ended in divorce. While in Conway County, Lindy lived at Morrilton, on Highway 9 North of Morrilton and in the Hill Creek area near Plumerville.
The 1930 Conway County census, Walborn Township, East Street in Ward 1 of the City of Morrilton, shows Malindy Baugus, 69, widowed, married at 22, a private family servant for the Carl C. Corbin family.
Lindy and part of her children later moved to California.
Lindy died January 1, 1936, at Brawley, California, and is buried in the Brawley Cemetery.
