Robert Bell Sypert was born March 29, 1798, in Sumner County, Tennessee, the son of Thomas Sypert and Mary Lassater.
Robert married Priscilla Mary Davis on December 4, 1823, in Wilson County, Tennessee. Priscilla Davis was born about 1800, the daughter of Isham Davis. They had four children. The marriage ended in divorce. Priscilla died about 1883.
Robert married his second wife, Juliet Hunt Jackson, on April 18, 1834, in Wilson County. Juliet Jackson was born December 15, 1810, in North Carolina. Juliet was a widow when she married Robert.
Robert died April 12, 1879, in Hallsville, Harrison County, Texas. Juliet died about January 9, 1889, in Ash Springs, Harrison County, Texas. They are buried in the family cemetery in Ash Springs, located about two miles southeast of today's Hallsville, Texas. (Robert's daughter, Emaline Frances Sypert Barker is buried beside them.)
