Sabre Elizabeth Cargile was born December 20, 1838, in Kentucky, the daughter of Robert Lewis Cargile and Margaret Plant.
Elizabeth's family moved to Arkansas about 1837. She appears on the 1840 Searcy County, Arkansas census with her family, as a female under the age of 5 years.
Elizabeth's mother died about 1848-1849. The family moved to Conway County, Arkansas sometime prior to 1850. The 1850 Conway County census shows eleven year old Elizabeth with her father and siblings in Benton Township near Quitman. Elizabeth's father remarried in 1850-1851 and the family moved the family to Union Township of Conway County, near Springfield, about 1851-1853.
Elizabeth married John Mallett on December 2, 1855, in Conway County. John Mallett was born February 11, 1835, in Georgia, the son of Jesse Mallett, Jr. (1803-1860) and Mathilda Tabitha Sterling (1810-1875).
John was a farmer and a Methodist minister. They raised their family in the Mallett Town area, near Springfield in Conway County.
Elizabeth died February 27, 1891, in Conway County and is buried in the Mallett Town Cemetery.
We have been told that John married Mrs. Doshia Perry after Elizabeth died, and they had several children.
John died August 19, 1907, in Conway County and is buried in the Mallett Town Cemetery.
