William Calvin Bridgeman was born about 1815/16 in Campbell County, Tennessee, the son of William Bridgman and Mariam Brown.
William married Matilda Prock, probably in Tennessee. One source indicates they may have married about 1841. The family moved to Kentucky prior to 1850. They settled in Wayne County, Kentucky prior to 1858.
William signed his will August 5, 1896, in Wayne County, Kentucky, in which he names his wife and children.
